The CBGS raises substantial funds for our chosen charity each year, through golf and other events. Find out about some of the organisations we have raised money for in past years.
Mind CPSL
Our 2026 Captain’s chosen charity

We are proud to be supporting Mind CPSL this year, a leading mental health charity dedicated to promoting wellbeing and providing vital support across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire. Their work makes a real difference in the community, offering guidance, services and a voice for those experiencing mental health challenges.
By supporting the season’s events, we are not only able to enjoy some fantastic golf but also help raise awareness of the importance of mental health and support an outstanding organisation that truly changes lives.

Amount Raised: £22,190
The CBGS society captain for 2025, Kari Sewell, chose Little Miracles as the charity to benefit from our fundraising this year.
Little Miracles is an incredible organisation that supports families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.
They provide vital services such as counselling, respite care, days out, disability advocacy, and practical assistance with applications and accessibility.
They make a real difference in the lives of parents and children with long-term medical challenges in Cambridgeshire and the surrounding counties.

The CBGS society captain for 2024, Stephen Gray chose Action Medical Research as the charity to benefit from our fundraising during the year.
Action Medical Research has been funding medical breakthroughs for over 70 years.
They have helped to beat polio, fight meningitis, prevent stillbirths and develop ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, helping to save thousands of children’s lives and change many more.
Today we continue to tackle the challenges disease and disability present by funding high quality research to save and change children’s lives. The prospects for finding new cures and treatments are almost within our grasp. Right now, Action is funding vital research projects with many more ready to go – but they simply can’t fund them all.
We are delighted to say that the charity benefitted from an amazing sum of £27,072 raised from the 10 OOM events throughout the year and several very kind initiatives, mainly from Graham Barber and Terry Dean from Commercial Sense. Thanks so much to everyone for making the year such a success and raising such an amazing amount for a fantastic cause.

The society captain for 2023, Chris Carey, chose Magpas Air Ambulance as the charity to benefit from our fundraising this year.
£25,000 raised in 2023.
Magpas Air Ambulance provides a rapid response to critical incidents across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and the East of England. Magpas Air Ambulance’s medical team of highly trained doctors and paramedics bring the very best pre-hospital treatment 24/7, giving patients a much better chance of survival.
It is the oldest medical charity of its kind in the country ( established in 1971 ) but ( unbelievably ) is not a state-funded service and relies on generous public donations to continue to save lives.
I very much hope that, through golf and our various events in 2023, we can raise much-needed funds for this extremely worthy cause.
