The outstanding Luffenham Heath was the venue for our third CBGS OOM event of the season.

Whilst the course played tough, the greens and fairways are some of the best in the UK and it is therefore no surprise it’s a top 100 course.

In addition to the course being in great condition, we were once again treated to wonderful hospitality and food by the club. For the third event running, we had the weather on our side, and the warmest yet with clear skies and a steady 21 degrees.

A huge thanks to the 44 members and 8 guests who attended the day and helped cement Luffenham Heath as an OOM venue for years to come. Scores reflected the course conditions on the day, ranging from 21 to 36 across both members and guests, with an average across all players of 29.25.

A big thanks to Mark Upton from Ensors for sponsoring the day and providing some fantastic prizes for the winners. Congratulations to Mark Winchester for winning the day on 36 points and taking home the Anthony Barnes Shield. Congratulations also to Team Ensors (the sponsor?) who won the day with 116 points.

With a combination of £10 on each ticket sold, Ensors sponsorship, £150 in fines and 1 reserve list donation, we raised just over £1,000 on the day for Action Medical Research – so thanks very much.

Next up is Northampton County on Wednesday 29th May. This event is fully booked at 52, however I will be in touch with members on the reserve list should any spaces become available.
