In May, Rich Blount and Stephen Gray organised the 6th CBGS fundraising dinner at the Graduate hotel in central Cambridge. Blessed with beautiful weather and kicking off with a Prosecco drinks reception overlooking the River Cam, 170 people attended in support of Action Medical Research, the 2024 charity of the Society selected by the Captain.

The night was expertly hosted by our MC, and CBGS member, BBC’s own Tom Williams. We had our best speaker yet where the audience were treated to brilliant stories from the former England cricketer, Phil Tufnell.

A big thank you to our sponsors, because without their continued support we would not be able to hold such a magnificent event: Alpha CEC, Ensors, KMD Private Wealth Management, Mobas, Rathbones, and STG Mortgage Solutions.

Below are photos from the night which capture the mood perfectly, including live music from Swagger Function Band and Paddington Bear’s appearance as the charity’s official mascot!

Through the raffle draw and silent auction, over £18,000 was raised which is an unbelievable achievement!
