CBGS 2026 Season Opener

The CBGS Season Opener will be held on Thursday, 26th February, from 6 pm to 11 pm, at the fantastic Madingley Hall.

For those members unfamiliar with this venue, there will be no parking problems as there is a big car park on-site.

The format will follow what we’ve done on previous dinners – black tie dress code, drinks reception, the AGM, followed by a sit-down three-course meal.

Please can I remind all members that they must RSVP a yes or no by Tuesday, 17th February. As per the terms of the contract with the venue, we have to confirm the final numbers by then.

Guest Speaker – Iain Carter

We are delighted to welcome back the BBC Golf correspondent, Iain Carter, as our guest speaker for the evening! As the BBC’S leading golf commentator since 2003, Iain has seen all the highs and lows of golfing drama – and 2025 was no exception with Rory McIlroy completing the career Grand Slam at the Masters and Europe winning a nail biting Ryder Cup in New York. It will be fascinating to hear his thoughts and share his experiences with us.

Iain will attend the evening from 6pm, mingle with members and then speak for approximately 40 minutes around 9pm.
